Health, Safety and Assumption of Risk

Read this before you act on anything you find here or on any platform we link to. It is the most important page on this site.
1. This is entertainment, not medical guidance
Everything here is written for entertainment and adult interest by a performer, not by a doctor. It is not medical advice and it is not a substitute for it.
If you have any health condition, circulatory, cardiac, neurological, dermatological, diabetic, psychiatric, or you take medication, talk to a qualified medical professional before taking part in anything described here. First, not afterwards.
Two rules cover almost everything below. If you remember nothing else:
- Never put yourself in a position you cannot get out of unaided.
- Stop the moment something hurts, goes numb, or changes colour. Pain is information.
2. Physical risk, by activity
2.1 Chastity and wearable restraint devices
Devices worn for extended periods carry genuine, documented risks:
- Restricted blood flow, numbness, swelling, tissue damage
- Skin breakdown, chafing, pressure sores, ulceration
- Infection from inadequate hygiene or prolonged wear
- Nerve compression and injury
- Entrapment, or a device that cannot be removed
- Injury requiring emergency care, up to and including permanent damage
These are not hypothetical. They are the ordinary failure modes of the equipment, and they happen to people who assumed they would not.
The rules, none of them optional:
- Always have a working key or emergency release within your own reach. Always. No exception, no scene, no arrangement, no matter what has been agreed or how much it undercuts the fantasy. A keyholding dynamic is roleplay. Your physical ability to get out of a device is not.
- Keep a backup key somewhere separate that you can reach.
- Fit matters. A device that pinches, cuts, rubs raw or restricts circulation is the wrong size. Do not push through it.
- Remove immediately and get medical attention for numbness, tingling, discolouration (pale, blue, grey or dark), swelling that does not subside, severe or increasing pain, broken skin, discharge, foul smell, or fever.
- Clean daily, both the device and yourself. Infection is the most common real problem.
- Build up gradually. Do not begin with extended wear.
- Never while intoxicated or otherwise unable to judge your own condition.
- If something goes wrong, cut the device off and see a doctor. Do not wait it out because you are embarrassed. Doctors have seen this before, they are not interested in your kink, and the sooner you go the smaller the problem is.
"But I am supposed to be locked." Yes, and rule 1 still stands. The fantasy is that you cannot get out. The reality is that you always can, and a keyholder worth having wants it that way.
There are ways to keep the tension without keeping you trapped:
- Disposable numbered locks. Your key sits in a small keyholder box sealed with a numbered plastic lock. You physically can open it in seconds. You cannot open it secretly, because the broken lock and its number tell the story. That is the whole trick: the honour system stays intact and your body stays safe.
- A keyholder safe or lockbox with the same principle.
- Proof rituals instead of physical impossibility. A photo of the intact seal, a check-in, a timestamp. Being trusted and choosing to obey is a stronger dynamic than being unable to disobey, and it does not put your circulation in someone else's hands.
Kink3D makes devices of this kind, and we mention them because they solve exactly this problem. See our Affiliate and Endorsement Disclosure for our relationship with them.
2.2 Following instructions is the point, and it is still your body
Let us be honest about what this is. I give instructions and you follow them. That is the product, that is the appeal, and nothing on this page pretends otherwise.
What that means in practice:
- The instruction is real. Your judgement is still yours. I am not in the room. I cannot see your body, feel what you feel, or know what your limits are today. You can.
- Not doing something is always available to you. Skipping a step, going gentler, or stopping entirely costs you nothing real. There is no consequence outside the fantasy, because there is no fantasy worth an injury.
- Some parts of a scene are fiction and some are physical. Being unable to stop, having no choice, being forced, being punished for stopping: that is the fiction, and it is the fun. The physical instruction is the real part, and the real part is always optional.
- Adjust for your own body. Duration, intensity and force in an instruction are written for a general audience. Yours is not a general body.
If you would not do it with a friend watching who cares about you, do not do it because I said so.
2.3 CBT and self-administered pain
Instructional material of Mine includes CBT: impact, squeezing, binding and other sensation applied by you, to yourself. It is one of the more genuinely risky things I ask for, so read this once properly.
Constriction and binding
- Anything tied, banded or clamped comes off within 20 minutes, and off completely, not loosened. Set a timer. Time passes strangely in subspace and "it felt like ten minutes" is how people get hurt.
- Never leave anything constricting on and fall asleep. Not once.
- Colour change (purple, white, grey, dark), numbness, or pins and needles means off now. Cold to the touch means off now.
- Use what you can remove one handed and instantly. Nothing that needs scissors, a key you do not have, or a second person.
Impact and pressure
- Build up. Never open at full force. Warm up gently and let sensation grow.
- Hands, soft implements and light taps before anything hard, edged or weighted.
- Never a full-force strike or crushing pressure on the testicles. Testicular rupture and torsion are real injuries and both are surgical emergencies.
- Stop for sharp, sudden or electric pain. Building, spreading, warm pain is the sensation you are after. Sharp is damage.
Go to an emergency room, same day, for:
sudden severe testicular pain, swelling that keeps growing, bruising that spreads, nausea or vomiting after impact, blood in urine, inability to urinate, or a testicle that has changed position or shape. Torsion can cost you the testicle within hours. No amount of embarrassment is worth that trade, and the staff will have seen it before.
Never do any of this:
- While intoxicated, on anything that dulls sensation, or half asleep
- With numbing sprays, gels or ice used to push further. Pain is the only warning system you have. Switching it off does not raise your limit, it hides the injury until it is worse.
- Alone with no way to call for help. Phone within reach, charged.
2.4 Toys and anything internal
- Only ever use a toy with a flared base. Anything without one can be drawn inside and needs surgical removal. That is by far the most common emergency room story in this category, and it mostly happens to people playing alone.
- Use plenty of lubricant and reapply. The body does not self lubricate there. Use a silicone safe lubricant with silicone toys.
- Go slowly and stop at pain. Discomfort that eases is normal. Sharp pain is not.
- See a doctor for bleeding beyond a light streak, pain lasting hours, fever, or being unable to pass stool. Not tomorrow.
- Body safe materials only, cleaned before and after every use. Cheap unmarked silicone and porous jelly toys hold bacteria.
- Trim your nails if you are using your hands.
2.5 Self-bondage and anything near the airway
Constriction rules are in 2.3 and apply here too. Two things are specific to restraint:
- Never tie yourself in a way you could not undo one handed, in the dark, in a hurry, with the other hand unavailable. If the release depends on everything going right, it is not a release.
- Never restrict your own airway or neck, and never combine restraint with anything affecting your breathing. Not as a scene, not as a game, not because someone online said it was fine. Alone, there is no safe version of this, and it is the one thing on this page that kills people who were only playing.
2.6 Edging, denial and prolonged abstinence
Safe for most adults, and worth naming anyway:
- Prolonged edging or denial can cause pelvic discomfort. It resolves with rest. Persistent pain, swelling or difficulty urinating is a doctor's question.
- Discipline is not deprivation. Nothing here asks you to skip sleep, food, medication, medical care, work, or people who matter to you. Anything reading that way is wrong.
- Compulsion is the failure mode. A structure that is helping you feels like relief. One that leaves you anxious, secretive or unable to stop is not, and it should end.
2.7 What is never encouraged here
Nothing here endorses breath restriction, strangulation, electrical current near the heart, genuine injury, or any practice that cannot be stopped instantly.
If you have read anything here as encouraging any of those, you have misread it. And tell us, because we will rewrite it.
3. Psychological and conditioning material
Some material uses humiliation, degradation, conditioning, hypnotic suggestion or identity play. For most adults that is enjoyable fantasy that stays where it is put.
- It is performance, not an assessment of you. Words used in a scene are not anyone's opinion of your worth.
- Never consume conditioning or hypnotic material while driving or operating anything.
- If it affects your mood, self-image, relationships or functioning outside of play, stop and talk to a qualified mental health professional. That is not a failure. It is the right move.
- If you have a history of trauma, dissociation, obsessive-compulsive patterns or an eating disorder, some of this may interact badly with it. Choose carefully, and involve a professional who knows you.
- You never need a reason or a diagnosis to talk to someone. If you feel like you want support, that feeling is reason enough. Waiting until it is bad enough to qualify is how people end up worse than they needed to be.
4. Mental health
This material engages themes of control, denial, discipline and submission. For most adults that is enjoyable fantasy. For some people, at some times, it is not.
If you are in crisis, experiencing compulsive behaviour you cannot interrupt, or your participation is harming your health, relationships, work or finances, stop and talk to a qualified mental health professional. In the US, call or text the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline on 988. Elsewhere, contact your local crisis service.
Nothing here is therapy, and nothing here should replace care from someone qualified to give it.
Money is part of this too: if spending has become compulsive or is causing harm, see our Tributes, Gifts and Voluntary Payments page, which says the same thing in more detail.
5. Consent runs the whole way through
Everything described here is between consenting adults. Consent must be informed, freely given, specific, ongoing, and it can be withdrawn at any moment by anyone, for any reason or none.
Nothing here obliges you to do anything. No agreement, arrangement or dynamic described anywhere overrides your right to stop. Anyone telling you otherwise is not describing My Empire, and is not speaking for Me.
Stopping is always allowed. Any challenge, streak, count, agreement or dynamic ends the moment you decide it does. Nothing here is worth an injury, and no one running any of it wants that.
6. Assumption of risk and release
By acting on any material described here, you accept the risks above voluntarily and knowingly, and you accept full responsibility for your own physical and mental wellbeing and your own decisions.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Nikki Kit and anyone working with us from claims for injury, loss or damage arising from your voluntary participation in any activity described here.
This release does not, and cannot, exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that may not lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected, and nothing here limits your right to bring a claim where you live. Governing law is dealt with in our Terms of Use.
